This year has been difficult. We don't want shopping with us to add to that. For everyone who feels unsafe to go out in public to those that would rather just stay in their P.J.'s, we got you covered! We have several different tabs for you to shop from (just look in our Shop dropdown menu!). If you would like to just take a look of all the lovely, local art, click here! Feel good by shopping local, and have the best gifts this year! Shopping On or Off Line In person or online, you will still find handmade artwork made by local artists. If you are reading this blog and/or signed up to get our emails, you are one of Our Creatives! Get Social with Us or leave your answer in the comments ๐Ÿ˜Š How are you celebrating Christmas this year? We're honestly curious. With the virus still a concern, how is that changing your holiday season? What things are you having to change? What things are staying the same? We're very mindful here at Impulsive and something that we have decided is not seeing extended family this year. Especially with the older generations in our families, we wanted to protect them as much as possible. So there are some family members that we will be calling or setting up a Zoom with so that we can protect them. It was a hard to come to this decision, but we feel it's the best way to protect them. Something so wholesome that I've seen so far is that countries are going the extra mile to show children that Santa is still coming to visit them! I thought that was just so cute that they were concerned about keeping this tradition intact for the children all around the world. No matter how this holiday season looks like for you, we hope that you have a wonderful time. We want you to have a fun and safe holiday with loved ones this year. ๐Ÿ’• Merry Christmas! Get Social with Us or leave your answer in the comments ๐Ÿ˜Š What is some of the best advise that you have ever received? Recently, one of the best things I've heard is "Take your judge robes off. You don't need to judge yourself so harshly to get things done." I don't know about you, but that hit me hard. I'm not one to judge those around me; normally I try to see the good in everyone! Well...everyone but myself. So here's me, just trying to give myself some slack and not striving for perfection, just striving for progress. Whether your advice is new or old, share it with us! We're not judging this week! Leave your advice in the comments below or on one of social media pages by Getting Social with us! Check out how in the section below! We try to find any way to give back; especially to groups that are local minded like we are! Some of our favorite charities to give to have been to local food groups that fight hunger and those who are food insecure in the area, Sparkle Cat Rescue (because how can you not love those cute faces over there?!), and the efforts to help Ginger Stuart become healthy again. Until then, we will not be scheduling any new classes. There is also going to be an Art Show in Mebane Friday night! Join us at Bright Penny Brewery to celebrate all the local artists in the area! • November Artist of the Month: Ginger Stuart

We haven't had one of these in awhile! We're so happy that we're getting back into the swing of things! Thank you all for being patient with us as we navigate this virus with you. This Artist of the Month is more serious than the ones before it. We just want to make sure to do this artist the justice she deserves. So, without further ado, please welcome Ginger as November's Artist of the Month! A Little More About Ginger You may have met Ginger and didn't even know it! She is one of the few people that we trust to stand behind the counter and spend time with you guys if Kat and Heather can't be there. She's practically our Store Mom (or at least, that's how we think of her!) That's why it hit us hard when we found out she was diagnosed with Acute myeloid Leukemia just a little bit ago. Acute myeloid Leukemia is a specific cancer that starts in the bone marrow. Basically, this cancer is going after her white and red blood cells before or as they are being created. She said that she was ok with sharing about her diagnosis with all of you, so we decided to try to honor her fighting spirit by making her Artist of the Month for November. Continue on to read about this amazing lady and what we're doing at Impulsive to help her and her family out. We are super hopeful that she can beat this and come out the other side happy and healthy! She has already gotten some really positive news towards getting through this. We, like her family, don't want her to have to worry about covering the cost once she gets out of the hospital. We want her to focus on feeling 100% better! The Interview with Ginger A little backstory before we get into the interview. We did this over text message so that Ginger could answer whenever she wanted to and not feel like she was put on the spot. She had told me that the last few days had been hard for her, so that's why her answers are on the shorter side. I think that she's amazing for wanting to even do this while feeling so bad! She is always thinking about the people around her. So here's to getting to know a little more about such a caring and wonderful person โค H: What was the "key moment" for youย that lead to you gettingย started in your medium? G: Time H: If you could work in any other areaย of art (besides your own), whatย would it be and why? G: I'll try anything H: You're a new addition to the crayon box. What color would you be and why? G: Blur. Sometimes when an idea hits me, it's like I'm going a million miles per hour. H: What is your go-to strategy for overcoming the thoughts of "your work isn't good enough" or "I am not good enough to sell my work"? G: You guys and customers H: If you could be any animal, what would you be and why? G: A big cat. I look warm and cute. But don't underestimate me. What You Can Look Forward To For this month, we're doing things a little differently! To help Ginger and her family for this holiday season, Impulsive Creativity is matching all of her sales (dollar for dollar) and giving her double for the items she sales from the shop. This is for online sales and for in our store sales. If you would like to purchase her items, please click here to be taken straight to the "Shop Artist of the Month" page and take a look at all the artwork she has at the store. (You can also get to this page by the drop down Shop menu on our website) We will be working hard to make sure all her items get put on the website this month, so make sure to check back frequently to see any new items added. She also has a GoFundMe page. Click here to be able to donate straight to her recovery and her hospital bills. Ginger's daughter, Sam, is good about updating the GoFundMe page and you will be able to follow Ginger's recovery there. Please consider helping out in any way that you can. Every little bit will help her and her family not have to worry as much during this holiday season. Let's Get Social Do you have a question or an idea? Let us know! Leave a commit below, sign up for our email list, and follow us on Social Media! Here's a link to our Facebook page! One for our Instagram page! And one for our YouTube channel! Practicing social distancing is great for not spreading the virus, but we miss being able to see you in the store! Reach out to us on your favorite social media platform, or send us an email, so that we can still talk to you! This month is all about being thankful for what you have. Be extra thankful for those that love you this year. Even if you don't get along right now, even if things are hard right now, even if things aren't the way the need to be, or even if everything is right in the relationship. This has been a rough year for everyone. Express how thankful you are for the ones you love and those how love you in return. XOXO - Impulsive Creativity

We need some more ideas on taking care of ourselves over here! Ok, I'll go first. Recently, I haven't been sleeping very well. So I made myself and my sleep a priority. If you feel unsafe to walk in when first visiting us, there is a bench outside for you to sit and wait until you do feel safe to come in. If you are in the store, please help us stay safe and healthy by observing social distancing practices while inside the store. ~We are offering classes at half capacity because of the size of our classroom. You will see this number reflected in the amount of tickets being sold for class time events. Surfaces are cleaned before and after class time for the safety of our workers, our instructors, and our class participants. We ask that you please wear your mask during your class time event. If there is anything that we haven't covered here and you would like to inquire before visiting the store, feel free to email us at info@impulsivecreativity.com or call us at (919)593-6928. How are you really doing during this time, what do you want more of from us, how can we continue to include you as we move forward as a community. So make sure to leave us comments! That's the only way we really know what you like and what you don't like as we move forward in all this. Don't get us wrong, likes are great. They just don't tell us exactly what you liked about a certain post, what your thoughts really are, or how we can constructively improve on some of the things you didn't like as much. So read the rest of the post to find out what we're doing this week and make sure to let us know what you liked and how we can improve what you didn't! Classes and Events Wednesday evening we will be having a Live Stream on our Facebook page! We started hosting an items Live Stream at 6 p.m. so that you can see the items that we have in the store without having to leave the comfort of your home to check out our products!
